Beeswax Ingots (1/2 pound)

$10.00

I only harvest it as a byproduct. I filter it for non-wax impurities, but never bleach or use chemicals of any sort.  This results in a wax that is easy to work with, stable and ranges from a dark tan to a golden yellow color depending on season and the bees’ environment.

Our beeswax is refined and cast on-site in recyclable molds.

Description

Beeswax is a remarkable substance.  Produced by worker bees, it is the primary construction material of hives.  Waterproof, antibacterial, anti-fungal and recycle able, it has all the properties an enterprising colony could desire. Humans have probably made use of it in one form or another since we encountered honey bees in the wild.  Even today, with countless artificial products, you’ll still find beeswax in use in candles, cosmetics, arts, households, health/medicine, technology and foodstuff.

Dear Community

It is with deep regrets and sadness that I must announce there will be no honey harvest this year. The usual challenges of beekeeping, coupled with the increasingly erratic climate since Winter have been really hard on the hives this year and there will not be a harvest-able surplus. Thank you for all your support in the past, we hope to be able to bounce back next season.
